The Bonnier Family Foundation

The Bonnier Family Foundation places the democratic conversation at the heart of its work. We believe that a thriving democracy depends on literacy, culture, and education—and that every individual should have the opportunity to understand, interpret, and shape the world around them.

By promoting reading and placing trust in each person’s potential, we aim to broaden perspectives, strengthen critical thinking, and empower children and young people to participate, contribute, and drive change.

The Bonnier Family Foundation’s board consists of eight board members. All are family members. The Bonnier family has built a strong entrepreneurial legacy spanning more than 200 years, with freedom of expression at its core and democracy as its foundation. The Bonnier Family Foundation continues in this spirit, supporting initiatives that strengthen the individual’s right and ability to express themselves freely, while contributing to a more open and inclusive society.

The Foundation prioritizes long-term projects that create meaningful, positive impact and safeguard children’s and young people’s future opportunities to participate in democracy and contribute to the democratic conversation.
